To reach your strategic goals, you absolutely need to know and define them. Do not drift into 2025 with a ‘rinse and repeat’ on last year. Take some time to deliberately ‘think’ with your SLT and consider how to 10X the value and the profit for the business.

This is what we want for the business. We want to set a 10X goal that really brings out the best of everything we do and everyone we employ. When you do this, your mind shifts into gear, figuring out how to make it happen across the whole business. Challenge your team - then go for it.

Here are five common characteristics of Goal-achieving businesses:
1️⃣ Their goals are ‘Inspired Goals’: They don’t just study the market and customer changes - they take action. Start implementing, try new things, and learn daily.
2️⃣ They play bigger roles in their mind until they are it: When chasing big, meaningful goals, they step up and act like the person they need to be to meet the goal.
3️⃣ They focus with intention on the right things: They stay focused on what they want and keep moving forward. They prioritise the uncomfortable actions over the easy ones.
4️⃣ They remove the distractions: 49%* of leaders say they fail to meet their goals due to distractions. They kill meaningless distractions in meetings and initiatives and focus only on high-impact actions.
5️⃣ They see failure as par for the course. They go all in, and if they fail, they recalibrate, learn from it and try again. They believe they will win in the end and 90% of the time, they do.
Starting Today, Take Action
Success leaves clues. And remember, the customer is the profit centre - so start there. Today, ask yourself:
✴️ What three things will I do to move toward my goal?
✴️ How can I add more value to my customers.
✴️ What are their pain points and how can I solve them.
✴️ How can I communicate more clearly and ask them what more I can do.
